Curve 5 elite skimmer

Just put the skimmer in yesterday. Manual calls for 9-11 inch water depth and it’s sitting at roughly 9.75. It overflows out of the collection cup.
My question is, do I let it do this for a few days/weeks to break in, or do I raise the skimmer?

Seems some people say it works better in 5-6 inches of water. But if it just needs time to break in then maybe I just leave it be for now..

The water level inside the skimmer is adjustable with the red knobby handle. Lower the water level inside the skimmer and it should be ok. If it is already on the lowest level on the knob, then the skimmer probably needs to be put on a stand to elevate it.

Also, assuming this is a new skimmer in an already running system....?

They have a break in time so could be part of the problem

I've got this skimmer. I think it's in about 7 1/2" of water. I can double check when I get home later.

My curve 5 is in 7" of water and works perfectly

Mine's sitting on an adjustable stand at 6.5" - 7" water depth. It's been working perfectly. I could never get it to stop overflowing at their recommended water depth even after a week of waiting.

Yes adjustment didn’t do anything. Was still overflowing at a good rate out of the collection cup.

And yes it’s a brand new skimmer in a running system.

Make sure your water level is 100% stable where your skimmer sits.
