Little update on the tank!

things have become very tough up here to get building materials with the stay at home order in place and shortages everywhere. I’ve began putting tile around the bottom edge of the aquarium. Just need to cut a few pieces with a tile saw to finish it off. Been lazy and haven’t glued and corals in place yet lol

also finally got the new Neptune system GRO refugium light and have it running. Very impressed so far. I get zero slip of light in my sump with this light. Very impressed with the build quality and the size of it as well!

anyways more to come soon!

Any pics of the Neptune Gro setup? Would love to see how you have it in the refugium

been a while since my last post! Been busy with other projects and really haven’t had time to do a post about the tank.

the tank has been running really stable so far. I’ve begun adding lots of corals. A lot are still on my sand bed but one of these days I’ll get around to start glueing some in place lol.

picked up some new fish for this build as well. Some are still in quarantine but I have added some to the tank.

right now in quarantine I have a line spot trigger, male orange back fairy wrasse and a male yellow fin flasher wrasse.

I also some how managed to get one of the first 2 pairs of captive bred bellus angelfish from proaquatix! They are a awesome! I also added a pair of yellow neon gobies and a pair of shark nose gobies from proaquatix as well.

I think going forward I’m only going to add captive bred fish to my aquarium now that I’m able to import with biota to Canada. Their selection of captive bred fish has grow drastically in the past year.

equipment updates!

aquavitro division 250 skimmer:
I am very impressed with this skimmer. First off the price is unbeatable at $359.99 Canadian I have had this skimmer set up with the recirculating option since day 1 and it has been pulling out thick sludge since day 1! Would highly recommend this skimmer to anyone looking for a new skimmer. I’d also highly recommend you use the optional recirculation kit to improve efficiency.

Neptune GRO marcoalgae light:
this light is the real deal. So far I’ve pulled 2, 5 gallon buckets of chaeto from my refugium. With being able to have the light so close to the water all my other equipment in my sump has zero algae growth on it. Would highly recommend this light to anyone and the best part is you don’t need a apex to use this light.

I’ll post some updated pictures soon! I promise!

Here’s some pictures of the set up of the light. This thing grows chaeto like a weed!
