Corals are growing and encrusting well. I’m hoping the colors start popping soon. Some are starting to show some good coloration but others don’t look anything like I expect. I’ll be patient and see where they land.

I’ve got to figure out how to photo shoot this tank the right way.

This and the 4 t5 builds across the tank will hopefully be enough for a thriving reef. Time will tell.

Growth is going well. I’m not very pleased with color. My phosphates hang between .03 and .06. Nitrates read 2. ICP showed low Iodine and boron. Looking to make adjustments but I’m honestly not sure what to do. I’ve been dosing the Koraline Zucht color program for 6 weeks. I’d anything, my colors are worse then before I started.

Wired up two more lights this weekend. One was doa. Ecotech has been fast and shipped out an advanced replacement. How would you acclimate the corals to the additional lights?

That’s what I suspected. Pumps with more output tend to have larger tolerances around the impeller, to decrease friction etc. They cannot prime themselves

I upgraded my protein skimmer this weekend. I chose the Reef Octopus Regal 200ss. It’s doing an amazing job but the side affect that I didn’t anticipate was the bump in Ph. It went up a full point and spends at least 12 hours of the day at or close to 8.4. Since the upgrade, I’ve gone from a drip rate of 8 ml per minute to 17 ml per minute on the calcium reactor. So the increase in ph had made the corals growth rate hit another gear. It’s a pretty awesome unintended result.
