Hi, im currently picking and dumping my uv and chiller outlet in the return chamber and im afraid its inefficient.

I though about adding a manifold to my return pipe but having hard time figuring where to add and will it work.

Below is my return pipe composed of unions and check valve:

So, should i insert a manifold and connect the outlets (the mani you see in the image is in th inputs) after the check valve? Before ? Would it naturally be pushed up wards?

I was thinking that if ill place it after the check valve, it naturally cant go backwards and water from the return pump will push it to the tank.

Hopefully others will chime in soon, but I will offer that I normally recommend a manifold off from a separate pump and not off from the return pump.

IMO Do what works best for you, I personally run my entire manifold on a separate pump it feeds a carbon rector a gfo reactor biopelet reactor and my UV the pump is next to my return and dumps it in my skimmer section on the opposite side everything has its own gate valves this also allows me to do maintenance without shutting down my display I have been told it’s better to run through the return into display so it processes more water vs just processing through the sump in theory

For my Situation knowing it’s important to achieve the flow rate for what your using the uv for so it was not possible “close loop” off my uv to the display I would be pushing way too much flow off my return

Is it working? Yup
Is it efficiently processing all of my water? Eventually yeah I guess…. Right?
