Hey everyone, just looking for some help with an ID on this red algae covering the sandbed, rocks, and in the sump. Pretty sure it’s cyano but I just wanted to be sure before I started treating it. Thanks!

I have these pictures from my sump with the whites. It’ll be tricky to get a picture of it in the display under whites since I’m runnings t5’s. Do these help?

Your tank looks very new.
Can you provide the size, age, parameters, lighting type and schedule, filtration you are using, and what inverts you currently have?
While there are chemicals you can add, I suggest taking a more natural approach -- siphon/remove as much as you can, work on moving toward stable parameters, make sure you have adequate flow, add some clean up crew (if needed), and be patient. Throwing chemicals at every problem, especially when your tank is immature, can lead to new problems.

Hey, yea the tank is pretty new. About 3.5 months old. It’s about 80g total volume between the sump and display, and I’m running t5 lights on this system. I’m running a blue plus and actinic bulb for 8 hours, and running all 6 bulbs for 5 hours total. Currently using an mp40 and nero5 for powerheads, with a skimmer, filter sock, and chaeto for filtration. Invert stocking list is pretty low right now, as I didn’t want to overstock and have a bunch of deaths. I have 5 Mexican turbo snails, about 5 ceriths, 5 nassarius, a fighting conch, 3 astrea snails, about 7-8 mixed hermits, and a curly cue pistol shrimp. Parameters are
Ca: 430
Alk: 8.3
Mag: 1350
N: 4
P: 0 (trying to feed more and dose to raise this)
PH: 8
