Per the title, every time I’ve tried using reef energy A and B I get patches of cyano. Any ideas why?

I would think so, too, but it’s been in two separate systems over the years with totally different nutrient levels. Right now I’m running ~5 nitrates and ~.05 Phosphate. No cyano whatsoever until I started dosing it (slightly under dosing) two days ago.Nutrient imbalance? That’s when I’ve seen cyano pop up.

Definitely not, but I’ve heard so many good things, and... I have it lolDo you need to dose it?
Well, it’s obviously not good for you. One thing I’ve learned when starting to dose things: go 1/2 or 1/4 dose from what’s in the label for a bit, then increase as needed.Definitely not, but I’ve heard so many good things, and... I have it lol
Interesting! I like my phosphate where it is, so I won’t use it. Thanks.I only use it when I want to raise my phosphate.
Yeah, good way to go about it. I did about a 1/2-3/4 dose. Maybe I’ll wait a week and try a 1/4 dose and see what happens.Well, it’s obviously not good for you. One thing I’ve learned when starting to dose things: go 1/2 or 1/4 dose from what’s in the label for a bit, then increase as needed.

Regular Salifert po4 tests? Po4 levels reliably rise when I use the productWhat is the evidence that it raises phosphate?

Perhaps giving coral an alternate source for what po4 facilitates? If it doesn't need to uptake as much po4, it will be allowed to accumulate for a period.Seems like an odd thing to put into such a product without mentioning it in the ingredients.
i wonder if the effect is indirect somehow.
