I've got these red spots growing on parts of my rockwork but when I try to scrub it off, it doesn't come off. Is cyano supposed to brush off easily or does it get stuck onto the rock?

if stuck on the rock, that could be coralline algae. How old is the system?

Cyano comes of dead easy. You probable have corraline
