I noticed on the second day of cycling a new 15 gallon tank that what appeared to be white sponge was growing on some live rock. Then I noticed this growing and wanted to know if it was aiptasia or something else. What steps should I take if it is something bad. I have attached two photos, one of the what looks like sponge and the other of the growth.

it's hard to tell with the way the photo is focused, but it does look like aiptasia. You can remove it manually, or they sell chemical products you can inject it with. I wouldn't worry about the sponge.
