Hey all,

I am currently in the process consolidating my tanks, a 20g and a 40g into a new 150-180g build. My main concern is the transfer of fish and corals from the old systems to the new one. I understand that there will be some attrition with the move but I want to minimize as much as possible.

What experience or suggestions do you have for this kind of transfer process? I saw from King of DIY if I can get a couple of MarinePure blocks in my sump and host the beneficial bacteria I can somewhat bypass the initial cycle.

Thanks in advance for the help!

2 months ago i moved my 120g to my 180g

was going to cycyle 180g with 120g running, but ended up moving everything over

used as much water as possible and everything for me was new in upgrade

did not reuse sand-new sand added, some live rock brought over and mixed with carib sea life rock

essentially was a bug water change

all 9 fish survived

all corals soft and lps good, only thing is toadstool has not opened up since the move

maybe 2 weeks in had slight diatom bloom on sandbed but since then all is well

nitrates 10 or less

phosphates 0

alkalinity in line, just trying to get my dosing right for calcium
