Hello, I recently acquired a red cynarina about two weeks ago. When I dipped the coral I noticed a hanging skeleton on the underside of the tissue. Just recently I noticed the skeleton has completely separated from the flesh. Since then, the cynarina still inflates to a normal size and still takes mysis shrimp when I feed it.

Is there anything I should be concerned about?

So it dropped a small piece of skeleton or the coral no longer has any skeleton? The former is weird but likely nothing to worry about, the latter is polyp bail-out and normally means doom to the coral.

It dropped a small piece of skeleton. It’s my first cynarina, I have no idea they can do that.

My guess is that it broke off while handling it, they're skeletons are super fragile and don't put up with being grabbed. It seems to be happy still, so I wouldn't worry about it. It'll probably drop the broken piece off in a week or so.
