I've had this cyphastrea for about 3 weeks now. Had it at the bottom of my tank in a shaded area (but still some light). Up until a few days ago, I noticed it's polyps not opening and today a white/dead spot forming. I just moved it to a more shaded spot under a ledge to see if it's the lighting. But does anyone have any thoughts of where this piece should be placed? Should I keep it where it is and see how it does, or move to a more open/higher light section of the sandbed?

I'll post parameters tomorrow, but I do weekly water changes and all my other LPS/SPS corals are doing great (knock on wood).

Thanks vetteguy, here are my parameters:

alk - 9.3
calcium - 519
salinity - 1.025
Too much light - moved the coral to a more shaded spot under a ledge (pics above)
Inadequate water flow - I thought they need low flow?
nitrate - 1.0
phosphate - .02

I added a small bag of Phosban to my media tower and replaced the ChemiPure Blue bag as well to see if that helps.

Listed above were contributors. They require moderate water flow
Calcium is a bit elevated. You can increase your slk to bring calcium down a little
