That’s a crazy chip!! I’m not surprised the tank still holds water though… I’ll defer to those with more experience in the department of corner chips here; it would make me sleep uncomfortably if I didn’t add some kind of internal reinforcement at least to that area…

The corner has almost no “load” downward but the seam has considerable PSI from the weight of the above water column whether its supported or not. It’s trying to push perpendicular outward. Not downward
I’m with you, the smaller chip in the other piece of glass is far more worrisome to me. I’d be concerned that it could expand and crack.I’d be less concerned about the corner as you can use diamond bit to shave it flat no problem. The issue is the damage right next to the caulk on the other pane of glass. It would be more difficult to shave that flat but it could be done by perhaps coming in at a 45 degree angle then filling the removed portion with caulk.
Glass is a type of material where if there is a tiny fissure it creates opportunity for that fissure to continue. The same material property allows you to score glass and break it off. Best practice would be using a diamond bit to shave them smooth.
If you think about it, cutting holes for a bulkhead are far more aggressive. But those holes are nice and smooth. I’d be curious other’s thoughts but I don’t see any problem if you clean up the damage
