Da'mons 125 Build

Whelp.... moved at the end of this summer and I finally have the space to get back to a 'decently sized tank. I was running a 90 gallon with sump etc....
I was able to get a hold of a used 125 gallon with dual overflows and so the adventure begins!

It's a used tank so it'll have to be cleaned but 1st to build the stand...

Got the holes cut in for the drain lines. Running both overflows as herbies so the return will be over the back. Single removable 2x4 on front more for the doors than anything.

Got the sump assembled. Instead of going with a custom acrylic sump I used a standard glass 55 gallon tank with a sump kit from eBay. Gives me plenty of space to play with a fuge as well as contain power loss drainage from the display tank. I will be using media cups instead of filter socks.

Finally got all my pieces for plumbing. Not going to run a manifold this time and trying to be simple and better. Running white pipe with grey joints and a black return over the back. I typically run schedule 20 ( which is enough ). Joints are scheduled 80 just because that is whats grey

Got a 3rd light delivered today. On my previous 90 gallon I was running 2 ViparSpectra 165's on my Apex with Steve's L.E.D. controller mod kit. With this tank being 6 ft wide I needed a 3rd light to cover the 2 extra feet.

Painting the accent wall dark blue that the tank will be on. The other walls will be white but once this baby gets set up there will be no moving it to paint.

Its been a bit but i have made some progress. The stand is mostly finished and I just have to do the doors which will be a shaler style. I did have a setback in trying to use a 55 gallon for the sump which it turns out is too tall for my liking. I have a 40 gallon long that I am going to use instead but I have to cut the baffles out * sighs *

Quick update... sry so long. I have the display tank sitting on the stand and the new sump in ( switched to 40 long ). Just noticing these large cracks in the top brace ( display ) so ordering a new one. I have to cut the old one off. * sighs * #justwannagetitwet

Ok new brace is here so time to silicone it on... plus pics of Apex control board I am making

Ok painted the background wall again and started plumbing! Leak tested the bulkheads and built out the return line...

Well into my plumbing now! I have my return loc-line done and connecting the shut off and gate valves etc....

So guess what got wet today... tank filling up, cleaning skimmer in vinegar water and laying out control board

Ok heres the water station. No auto salt mixing but still plenty of water on demand. I have to add another membrane and set up the auto shut off valve which is not connected to the float switch right now
