hey guys I'm new to the hobby loving it so far! Anyways I just got two damsels last night I acclimated them like you should and put them in my concerns is the one loves to swim right at the surface of the water should I be conserned about him jumping out? Also what's a good diet for damsels?

I would think it should be fine. They pretty much eat any flake pellet or frozen food. Be aware they can be very aggressive so careful what other fish you add in with them.

Swimming at the surface is abnormal for a damsel, but behavior is often odd for fish just added to a tank. It should return to normal behavior in a day or two.

I'd love to add some damsels to my tank but fear the aggressive behavior.

Currently 4 carberryi anthias
2 false percula clowns
1 yellow tang
1 hippo tang
1 orange spot blennie

Plan to add 1 hoevens wrasse
Regal Angel or another tang at some point

Hey Griff, ime, its okay if you add the damsels towards the end and pick the less aggressive ones. Mine are springeri, yellowtail and azure damsels, added them in that order.
They just squabble among themselves, just chasing game, nice to see.....and i have a clown and pyjama cardinal keeping them in check....they are like naughty kids
