Ok so bare with the title, the tank is already running as my display is a 125 with a 55 sump running under. Well I have been wanting to set up a fuge for this tank but since I'm to cheap to go out and buy one. I've decided since I don't have a build thread on this tank and it's been running for about 4 months now, I'd start one. Yes I know this is a 180+ but that is where my fuge comes into play. I found a old 29 gallon sitting out in my garage a few days ago. Well you guessed it that is going to be my fuge. Since I'm MR, DIY I'm going to run a DIY overflow in it down to my sump. Only going to run 1 pump on the whole system. It's a no name pump that I got from home depot a couple years back, it was used in my FOWLR tank for the longest, but Back in November I decided my 125 should be my reef tank so the upgrade began. Well here is some pics and I'll post more as I get everything done on here. Canopy build will start this weekend. Just upgraded to led a few weeks ago from t5. Plans with the canopy is going to be mix in a bit of everything. I've got a couple old t5 ballast laying around with some brand new coral+ bulbs, so I'm going to run my led fixtures with 2 48 inch coral+ bulbs to help with the pop of the coral. But here are the pics from start to now

When she first got home, this was the original stand the guy had it on

Once I got it in the house and set up, quickly realized that stand needed to be redone asap

This is pic of when I was setting it up for FOWLR but was a few days after I redid the stand and set the 55 under it to start the sump

The look of the tank running the t5 before the upgrade to the led

The newest pic of the tank, the led are really killing everything on here. Was amazed at how much brighter they are compared to the t5. Also the main reason the canopy is being built for it. Hope ya'll enjoy it, I'm ready to see how this looks and start investing my extra money back in more coral. It's been a great hobby and worst thing I had to do was break down last year and sell most of my stuff in my old 75 gallon

Got the fuge set im place and a little extra light for it today. Decided to go with a small sand bed instead of a bare bottom setup. Got my water mixing now. Overflow should be done this weekend. Hope to have it all running together by Sunday

Thanks. There is still more to come to it. Just wanting to see how much diy I can do and it still run as smooth as if it was all manufactured in a shop somewhere.
