Woke up this morning to find my baby clown fish was sucked up by my protein skimmer! So sad! Was she possibly ill and died before getting sucked in? Can i leave her in the skimmer and wait till she gets sucked into the collection cup before removing her? It’s impossible to get her out! Will it cause an amonia spike? She is tiny.

Sorry for your clown. I lost a wrasse that way.

is there noway to take apart the skimmer toget the clown out? Can you remove the skimmer and try to flush out the clown?

Ammonia should be ok but how old is the tank and how many gallons?

I'd go ahead and dig him out, you'll just have to take the skimmer apart possibly out. It probably wont cause an ammonia spike, but if the decays in the tank its gonna at least cause phosphate and nitrate to go up, not to mention the smell.
