I’ll try the bleach method. Is there any specific type of bleach that should be used, or just any ‘household’ bleach?

Look for household bleach without any added perfumes or dies, and not the stuff labeled "splash free" or anything like that. Something like this:

I want to restart ASAP that is why. I've already fallowed since 26th of Jan and waiting another 60 days will just make me want to quit the hobby :)

If you’ve already done your 60 day no fish cycle, ick should be done now.

I’m not sure what your specific problems were, or how long that system was running, but we don’t always have start from scratch.

It largely depends on what you’re trying to kill by nuking the rock work.

So if I have ick, I’d just go fallow.

If I have algae rocks, I’d just bin them for a week or two in darkness, scrubbing them every day, rinsing them, then returning to bin. A lot of good bacteria will remain with this cycled rock.

If I have something like Aptasia, yup then I’d nuke them.

As previously mentioned, I personally will feel more comfortable nuking the system and fully sanitising / disinfecting the equipment as well as using new rock.

Given the bad luck I have had I think this is a sensible option
