Equipment list

It looks nice. I have the exact tank and love it. If you're using sand you may decide to use only one of the wp-10. I'm using one on my tank and it gives me plenty of flow.

I still need to get the sump and light hanger done but I am hoping to start cycling the tank by Monday.

I also need to plumb the return and drain lines..

It looks like it's going to be a beautiful tank. I like your coral branches. It adds character to the tank. Looking forward to some pictures.

Does anyone recommend egg crate for the bottom before I add sand?

Is all of those branches glued together?

The center piece is all glued together but the left and right pieces are freely standing but will be glues to clusters of rock.

I am going to put a island in the front with a cluster of rocks trailing off each side to build a zoa garden. I have some rastas and metor shower zoas which will star out with and maybe some darth mauls and other zoas on there at some point in the future.

Hi Zemuss, really nice branch scape!!! Congrats, I have the same tank but only 12" high, the frag or shallow tank. I added the Jebao DC 3000 to replace my Mag 5 and I have an a Mp-10, the Jebao pump comes with the controller with six speeds and the feeding option that pauses the pump to slow speed for 10 min, in order to use the feeding option you will need a check valve to stop all the backflow from the DT, the pump in feeding mode cannot hold it ( the back flow) , it's totally up to you but I will suggest you in getting a Jebao DC 6000, your tank will be double the water and with the 3000 I think it's not enough power to move a constant speed or flow your 60 gal plus Sump. I have 30 gal at display and 12 gal at sump-refugium and I keep it at full speed all the time. Hope it helps, wish u the best. Happy Reefing!!!!!!

P.D. I Bought the Sump-refugium at triggersys.com, it's a cube 18x18x18, three chambers for water return and skimmer, second one is the refugium (I have a DSB, live rock and a big chaeto clump), the third one is the return chamber (I have there the Jebao DC 3000 and a IM Reactor with bio pellets, any q's please let me help!!!!!

I tested the Jebao DC 3000 in the tank by placing it at the bottom of the tank pointing up. One setting one it was powerful surge, Setting 2 ,3 and 4 the water shot out of the tank by about 2 to 6 inches and at full the water shot up like a water fall. I think the DC 3000 can handle the water movement. However, I never rely totally on the return pump for water movement because thats the wp-10's job.

Doesn't check valves reduce flow? If not I will add one.

Painted back of tank with an oil base enamel. I also added the return line pictured.

External plumbing. Union so that I can remove the pipes for cleaning.

Tank is already wet and once the tank settles I will get some more screen shots.

Next on the list is Sump plumbing which is currently being built locally out of PVC. I also need to figure out where to store the power strip and all of the controllers.

More pictures to come.

If you are going to have a sand bed and from the look of the tank I assume you are going to have an sps heavy tank I would use crushed coral. You will want to use and have all the water flow you can have and sand sifting snails can still get through it and the power heads won't blow it all around.

I went with Caribbean sand and will post pictures when the tank settles. I have another bag to put in there.

Thanks for the advice.

I am open to suggestions on the Stock List..

I would like the tank to be SPS dominate. I am aiming from a center piece of Red Planet.

If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Thank Rev!

I am really taking my time on this build.

I do need fish and coral suggestions. I want this to be a vibrant and bright tank for room.
