Mainly a mixed reef, Ive never had a nice grown out setup.. . I may just try some SPS

Cuc should be in today from reef cleaners, along with some macro algae I'm gonna throw in the display, I also got an idea from a local reefer to add mangroves being that it's open top and fell in love with the idea.. So I was able to add 5 to the order, I'm pretty excited to see the result

Soooo at the moment im mixing new saltwater because one of my feed lines into the sump popped off...thank GOD it happend and i was drifting off into sleep and probally only lost 5 gallons before i could get it into standby ande shut the valve off...how irritating this is...i can only blame myself as this problem has been bugging me of bettter securing those pipes to the drain lines...so i cemented them and popped the back in and there gonna get a fresh seal tomorrow...

Well after last night's semi disaster.. I had a clown pass who wasn't looking to hot.. But I got some mangroves in!

love this tank, could you tell me how mangroves grow? I mean do they need to start off in very shallow water or can i put the pods in my dsb which is 18 inch under water and they will grow through the water column until they break the surface?

Thanks guys.. Heller the mangroves need to be planted so they can root, either in sand or in the rocks but they can't be fully submerged
