So I got a devils hand coral yesterday, and after about an hour it looked like this.

Then about an hour later on until now it looks like this.

Does anyone know what might be going on? Parameters are good all around, I tried looking at stuff online. Found something about shedding in low flow, but flow should be good where it's at.

Its a softy, and they are finicky. He looks fine, just needs alittle time and should bounce back, these guys do this stuff all the time.

Yea he came back for about an hour after I posted but now back to the same. My only concern was his size seemed to go down as if shriveling up.

Yup, thats what they do, it fills itself with water, and can shrink itself down to nothing, its when you see it start to disolve that you have a problem.

Leathers will extend and retracting pollyps whenever they feel like it. Just make sure they have enough light and flow and they will grow.

It's not unsuual for a leather in a new tank to shrink up and even shed over a period of 2-4 days. Especially if your parameters are solid, it should come back.
