Dialyseas limitations and dosing?

Hi All,

I've seen some posts about the Dialyseas system but I don't fully understand if you need to dose or not with it? I haven't done in water change in at least 5 years after starting Triton and generally have had success with my reef tank, but that being said I've been daily dosing that entire time. Are there any high quality salt brands that eliminate the need for dosing with this kind of system? Do I need to keep dosing if the Dialyseas is adding fresh salt to a tank and continuously doing water changes? Do I need a refugium/algae scrubber anymore? Are there any major limitations to the device?

If it's helpful my new tank is a 230+ gallon display with 50 gallon sump.

I just read about this device. It seems expensive and complicated just for changing water. Did you figure this thing out

Yeah looks like it may remove unwanted ions but unsure what else it removes via its membrane. Think it's useful if you have limited space and want a good system to replace water without needing a large reservoir of RODI sitting around somewhere in your home.
