Hello everyone, I have diamond gobby .
He is very good worker in terms of Stiring and sifting the sand , but for the last 4 (!!) weeks my tank water are fully of detritus, because the gobby blowing them all around the tank!!

I've confirmed it by observation at the gobbys every day .

The sand in Ocean natures aragonite sand.

Is there anything that I can do with this issue??

If you have a sump try a filter sock on the drain line. I am having a similar issue in my bare bottom frag tank. Cleared it right up. Your sand sifting goby might make it a continual need though.

Ideally the goby is filtering the sand and anything that gets kicked up is put into the water column and eventually makes its way into the filter. Is that not happening? What type of flow do you have in the tank?

I'm not a big 'Gobby' guy, but I take it from reading that the most common/most popular fall into two categories-- those that sift-in-place, and those that carry the sand around up into the water column and sift it all around the tank. (That is, 'messy.') Do you have the latter type?

It's looks like the detritus keeps tumbling all over the tank.
Flow is Quiet strong, 4 MP's 40

I have the type that sift in place , but because the flow is powerful , its simply tumbling all over the tank
