Diamond goby problem

Why is my gobys tail really messed up he has been in the tank for a week now could it be from him making all his holes and moving alot of sand it is very concerning because it looks pretty bad

Please help

2 clowns, yellow tail dam and some fiddler crabs red leg fiddler and Halloween fiddler

I would have to agree those guys get nasty!

Idk if one dam could do tht it's like the fun part if it is gone and it's bloody looking and I've never seen them mess with each other only the clown and damsel will mess around sometimes and tht when they go by each other's little area

Your best bet is to take the tank apart and grab that damsel
You have a small enough volume where t shouldn't take to long
You may not be seeing it happen but they will go after anything and everything once they are established!

My money is on one of the fiddler crabs. They don't have that one really large claw for nothing. They are nocturnal opportunistic feeders, and could easily ambush a bottom dwelling goby tucked away in his hidey-hole at night.

I feel stupid I meant to say hermit crab not fiddler because they don't have the big claws just lil ones

Just make sure it doesn't progress. A pic would help but pay attention to how this progress bc it could also be caused by an infection?

Thts what I was worried about because I didn't want it to spread to my other fish in the tank I'll try to get pic but prolly won't be till tomorrow he hides all day and comes out in the mornings
