New tank and semi new to saltwater. Tank has been up for a little more than a month. I knew there would be a diatom bloom that comes with the ugly stage. Have quite a bit of it on the sand. Is this a flow problem? Or do I need to get a sand sifting goby or star to stir up the sand a lil bit or will it go away on its own? Currently have a lawnmower blenny, two clowns, one spot foxface, one blue legged hermit, a tuxedo urchin and a few nassarius snails.

A larger CUC of various snails will be beneficial. After the diatoms you will probably start to get some other algae’s as the tank matures.
You can take a look through Reefcleaners.com to see what eats what.

Yeah. Planned on getting some trochus snails, some turbo snails, copepods and some fire shrimp and maybe a few more hermits. Went to the Lfs this week with the hopes of getting a decent CUC going but they had an ich outbreak in some tanks so I wasn’t buying a darn thing from there for a few weeks lol

Oh just noticed that reefcleaners sells livestock
If you end up buying from them their packages are based on tank size that IMO contain an outrageous number of snails and crabs. You won’t need nearly that many. They will just starve.

They are a great company otherwise!
