Hey there I recently got into the sps game and have started a small collection of sps. I currently have a few millies, tenuis’ and such. I want to knoe if they have different preferences on mounting styles or heights. Thanks!

The heights will really depend on the types of SPS and their lighting requirements, but this is what I do for all frags:

Get them off the frag plug

Put some super glue on the frag

Mix up some expoxy putty

Put it on the rock in the order of epoxy-glue-frag

How do you take them off the plugs without killing them. I’ve tried once and failed miserably so i never tried again. My frag went pale by the next morning.

How do you take them off the plugs without them going pale? I tried once and my frag was fully white and dead the next day.

Cutting it off the plugs would not cause acros to go pale.

Probably something else there.

Other wise all fragged pieces would die upon being fragged.

I just use a bone cutter

Of course, this is only talking about newly cut and attached frags. If it has encrusted, just attach the whole plug

Gotcha thx!

I usually start new frags off on a rack . I like to let them encrust on the plug so I know they are growing then I cut the stem off the plug and glue them down. I rarely buy fresh cut frags because I've had poor luck with them. I like to see some growth in the plug before I spend my money.
