Hello,
I am new to reef2reef, a lot of information! I have been reading about using Fe+ to bind PO4.
I am looking at making my own solution but cannot find Iron Citrate. I was wondering if I can use Ferric Citrate or ferrous Gluconate instead and still obtain the same result?
I was planning to use 3ml per 25 gallons of Iron Citrate (solution would be 49.7 grams in 1 liter). Would I keep the same dosage with the other compound?
-> I answer my own question! If I use Ferrous Gluconate, I need to use 4.5ml per 25 gallons (solution is 55.84 grams in 1 liter) to have the same effect than Iron citrate.
Can one make his/her own iron citrate solution by mixing trisodiumcitrate with ironsulfate heptahydrate?
Thank you,
Le fou
