Wow. Hope someone tells us what it is… :)

I know nothing about triggers but might be a blue lined trigger

The undulating lines fooled me, maybe a grey triggerfish, it does have the face of balistes genus. I can't see real detail on my computer.

Indian black trigger. Not a Hawaiian black
Very close, except the Indian black trigger doesn't have clear fins as they are usually black. Also, the line beneath the dorsal fin is all white on Indian triggers.

I think it's a hybrid. I have an idea of what it's mixed with but wanted to hear from the experts on R2R first

Wow on second look in more detail you may be right. I do see elements of a pink tail trigger. Can you get clearer pics under more light?

This was my guess also, pink tail and indian black hybrid. Great eye man, I hope he colors up well if I grow him a little bigger.

I was gonna call it an undata triggerfish but it's actually called an undulate triggerfish. Very kool specimen and yes I agree it will become very aggressive as it and it's appetite grow.
D

The Undulate Triggerfish-- a beautiful 'Terror of the Sea!' Oh, how many times I have resisted the urge at my LFS! Lol. I will just have to live through you. ;) Keep the pictures coming as he grows; and the stories of mayhem and destruction! Ahahahaha. Best wishes, he's a fun one.
