I have long threads that seem to be stuck in each polyp of a gorgonian that has not opened since the issue started. Am I supposed to remove the coral from water and extract the threads with a tweezer?

That's dinos, and a type that will be susceptible to UV. (stringy)
You should blow them off or dip/rinse whatever to keep the dinos off the corals in the meantime. Corals don't do well when dinos attach directly like that.

Thank you, I'll give that a try. What's the process for eliminating from tank?

The threads do blast off but seem to come back pretty quickly. What else can I do?
