Dinos from hell!

Carbon dosing is feeding the Dino’s! I just played this game again myself ugh lol… I threw some gac online put filter floss in my sump baffles and started blowing them all off! Once you get the tank clean use sunny x do it yourself coral snow or buy real coral snow which ever you prefer.. mix it with mb7 “a cap per 25 gallons of water” and turn your return pump off and let it clean the tank and the bacteria coat surfaces for 30 min and then turn your pump back on and let the skimmer do the work.. once your lights have been off for a hour or so at night dose h202 1ml per 10 gallons of water! I just followed this routine after fighting Dino’s for a month and my tank cleared up in 4 days and looks beautiful today!

I have a total water volume of 128 gallons. So dose 128 mil. Of hydrogen peroxide daily at night?

1ml per 10 gallons of water when the lights are out. So a total of 12ml I would do.. the little kids medicine droppers are 5ml… so 2 full droppers and 2ml on the third one fill to 2ml

One more thing and yes I meant 12 mil not 128...lol...should I run my skimmer and my waterfall algae scrubber during this process. I thing I have the ostreopsis strain from what I can tell.

I looked at the videos in a thread and they look exactly alike. The others look like they are doing a slow dance

First, I started dosing phytoplankton and bacteria.

After a few days, I turned on the UV sterilizer. I proceeded to cycle the sterilizer 12 hours on and 12 hours off. When it was off is when I would dose the phyto and the bacteria. Dinos were gone in two weeks. Also increased feeding a bit.

Hard to say. I watched this
And they spin more around but some just float like yours.

Yeah, I read somewhere on here to do that to ensure the bacteria and phyto aren't killed off instantly by the UV thusly rendering them ineffective. I also added pods knowing full well they may succumb to the UV, but I was desperate for any little thing that might help. Not sure that their addition impacted much which is why I didn't mention it. Finally, I did run some GAC as well and employed elbow grease (manual removal). Mine looked just as bad as yours. Good luck, you've got me nervous that mine may return.

Yes on the skimmer .. algae scrubber i havent used but I don’t think it would hurt..

Hydrogen peroxide is indiscriminate and will reduce both good and bad algaes and bacterias.
Corals like Stylos Birdnests and Digis may “thin” and pale out with its use.
While you may kill the pest algae, it doesn’t fix the problem long term.
Found out the hard way.

Build your micro-fauna population and diversity by dosing phyto, some pods and a daily hit of bacteria.

Keep parameters rock solid and forget water changes.

It will go on its own, and stay gone by itself.

I've had dinos before and beat them. I've moved my reef tank 300 miles my suggestion to anyone is don't and if you do start all over and sell everything with that said I lost almost everything about 12k in coral. Luckily my fish survived. Everything was going well so I thought. New sand etc. All my coral line algae was lost as well but the few pieces that survived were starting to thrive. Had the usual algae but when I started to treat the mini cyno outbreak dinos overnight have taken over the tank. I've tried everything imaginable even what worked in the past and to no avail! I've included some pics. Even raising my nutrients which worked in the past seemed to make it worse. Lost one piece already and my one hammer colony seems to be on its way out as well. I'm lost at what to do now before giving up and breaking it totally down. Any thoughts out there that maybe I've overlooked would be greatly appreciated.

Hey! Good news is I've seen worse! and in the past I've gotten rid of these guys in 6-8 days, but the only thing I didn't see in your post was wether or not you have a UV sterilizer. Do you have one of those? Here's the method I use to get rid of Dinos and it's ALWAYS worked for me:

Mine never did… I transferred everything from my little tank to my big display I have today with no problems.
