Dipped Corals in Lugols Iodine...Did I Kill a Good Guy?

Dipped all my corals from this weekend’s haul in Lugols Iodine today because I was out of Reef Primer. Found these guys in the dip and in my fresh salt water rinse bowl. Garramid Amphipods?

From the pictures they don't look like grammids to me. They do look like a copepod of some type.

Yeah it looks like some type of pod to me too but I couldn’t figure out exactly what. Even though it looks like the dip took care of all of them, you never know. I hope it’s nothing harmful.

Dip in Melafix. Lugols is only good after cutting corals.

I would’ve used something else but didn’t realize I was out of coral dip and the corals arrived so my options were not dipping or Lugols. I know it’s not the ideal dip but iodine should still kill any hitchhikers no?

I understand, we never plan to run out of things. Another reason I suggest Melafix Pond -- It lasts forever as it's super concentrated.

in my experience, iodine won't kill a bunch of things. From AEFW to pyramid snails.
