dipping acans,micro,and chalices

ok, so i am extremely paranoid, as most of us are, in my stoney tank about getting nudis, flatworms, and reg bugs, spideroids(i am sure i butchered this one)among others... my question is i use two little fishes coral revive and tropic marin procal coral cure whenever i get new additions. i am just getting into the micro and acan thing, and i want know if these dips will harm my new additions of acans, micros, and chalces? and what do you guys use to dip your corals in? how long do you dip and how much do you add.....

I think tropic marine pro is about the best dip out there - I don't think you will have any problems using it - most people use it a 2-3 times the normal strength without any ill affects. I don't have any experiance with the coral revive product you mentioned - maybe someone else does

thanks for chimin in guys....... just want to reinforce my belief., tmpcc says for sps(not zoos, lps, etc)... i use the revive and tmpcc because i was reading on RC and few guys got monti eating nudis and aefw still even though they dipped w/tmpcc, and they now swear by the revive cuz the nudis and aefw both died in the revive but not the tmpcc....... i still like the tmpcc cuz it has been tride and true so far, but i definately use both as a just in case..... another question is do you rinse your corals after the dip, before the introduction to the tank....

I used TMPCC for all corals. I usually use it at 2X strength and dip for 15-20min. TMPCC will not kill any eggs (like monti-eating nudis or zo-eating nudis), so you can still potentially introduce nudis from new additions. Ideally, you'd have a spearate container of tank water to rinse your corals after the dip. Use enough volume that you can swish and shake the coral well to dislodge anything that might be holding on.

Levamisole (sp?, a pig dewormer) can kill monti eating nudis, but its supposed to be pretty harsh.

I also use a stronger dose of TMPCC than recommended. And i also leave it in a little longer than the instructions. It kills everything. I poke at the things that are dead to make sure they are completely dead before i pull out the frags.
