Direct Flow Problem. Need help Please?

Hi,

I have a 3/4" return that I can't adjust direction. It is causing too heavy direct flow towards some LPS and I can't move them. So, I have never used lockline but thinking that I can put a diverter of some sort on it to change the direction of the flow? Does anyone know what parts I would need to do this correctly?

If you have the option and the socket on the return you can try using a loc-Line ball value like the ones in the below picture. this will slow the flow and allow you to adjust the direction.

Parts:

• Male NPT Ball Valve for 3⁄4†Loc-Line Modular
• 3⁄4" Loc-Line Modular Hose (6 segments)

Either/or:

• 3†Flare Nozzle for 3⁄4†Loc-Line Modular Hose
• Round Nozzle for 3⁄4†Loc-Line Modular Hose

Thank you :) I have a ball valve on the return below the tank. I really don't want to slow the flow, just need to divert it. I guess i would need a fitting to fit the pipe end and that lock line will connect to. Maybe a double line that i can point 2 ways...

You might not need loc-line at all...

If you cut a 2-1/2" long piece of 3/4" PVC and add a 45-degree coupling at the end of it, thus allowing you to change the direction... it should fit tight enough that you wouldn't have to PVC glue it in.

That's what the idea was for this elbow. The problem is that once it was the water it won't move. It isn't glued at all... LOL So I thought that if I can get the right connector (hopefully unthreaded) I could put a loc-line Y on it and 2 hoses and direct it away with being able to adjust as needed. BUT I have only been able to find threaded connectors :(

Hmmm ok, i see... I don't know of any push to connect loc-line (well you know what I mean)... if that 45 is removable you can add a 3/4" female PVC adapter and the screw on loc-line return kit...

Yes, it did help, thank you and thank you also on the build thread! It has definitely been a learning process on this one :D I have sanding and painting yet on the cabinetry then i can concentrate on the corals finally. .. I am so excited about getting it finished... up and running for 3 month tomorrow and we started it in March.
