Very disappointed in the color of my yellow tang under the blue lights. He looks very pale. I like just the blues for the coral but the tang looks very pale under them. If I use the white light he is beautiful yellow. I wish I had known.

Turn the lights on in the room and give him a reason to hang out at the front of the tank.
Otherwise, yeah...

So far the only ones of ours that look really cool are the clown fish with pure white.
If it's just blues at the end of the evening it's hard to tell the difference between the orange clown fish and the black clownfish. Only the white stands out.

The copperband butterfly fades out, the banggai cardinals fade out. Too much silver.
I don't have any other white fish.
Maybe a white sleeper goby would look cool under actinics, but I don't have one in a bare bottom tank.

The Royal Grammas just looks funny and Martian like.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
