Discosoma moving?

Hi,
Long time lurker, first time registering and then posting. I have a discosoma who seems to be on the move. It seems to be removing its foot and then wanting to free flow in the reef.
For context I've only a few days ago glued he's little rock to the final resting place so I'm guessing he doesn't like that location?

Yes the mushroom will move if it doesn't like its current position. But "walking" leaves little pieces of mushroom behind with every step it takes, so you will have multiple mushrooms.

Walking leaves little remains of it and a few. However, what flying (floating) does? not multiples? I've had Mushrooms for years just never seen them take a leap and spread far.
