After moving around a lot starting in 2015 and selling my entire tank. I’ve finally settled in my first home and my step brother gifted me a 150g tank/stand to dive back in.

Following along! What are your plans for the tank?

I’ll probably start off small with a couple hardy fish and eventually some softies. I’d like it to eventually be a mixed reef but honestly the most important thing on my mind right now is to get a copperband butterfly. That was my favorite fish of all time. It died during my last move of my old tank. I had it for 4 years :(

Protein skimmer addition

Hydro E-SK 1000 DC protein skimmer

Nice setup - I’d love to see more! I reckon you should play around more the the height and build a taller structure/ attach rocks to the back wall.
I love copperbands, haven’t had a big enough tank to keep one yet. A pair would be awesome.
I think a tall rock face with fish that appreciate caves etc would be awesome. Maybe a group of royal grammas?

Looking great! The stand looks awesome, and I love the placement of the RODI. As someone who has to work with little space for a tank setup, that's a great idea.

I am not happy with my rock work. I started to like the look of it on the table, but when I moved it to the tank I could not stack them back in the same orientation for some reason. I’m having my LFS help me out and look for some unique pieces!

Thanks. The stand needed a lot of TLC. My fiancé did a great job. Our laundry room just W/D in a closet and she didn’t want to look at the RODI so on the ceiling behind the wall it went 😂

Any updates? I’ve got a similar tank in the making, using yours as inspo
No updates yet. Just ordered the overflow and sump. We have been on a slew of cool travel for work we couldn’t pass up, so the tank took a pause.

Get some epoxy, and build it up! You can do it easily bit by bit. Just take out enough that you need and use that to do it rock by rock day by day if you like!

Eshopps PF-1200 overflow and Fiji 36 advanced reef sump 2nd gen

Going to need to cut a third cabinet in the side of the stand to slide the sump in.

Sump is in. I’ll make a cabinet door to hide that hole. More access to the stand is always a plus.

First time hard plumbing. Hopefully it sits as well when glued

Any concern about water spills collecting around the cabinet/floor interface? I decided to put a kitchen floor mat under my stand. The pretty sure my wood floor wouldn't last long otherwise.
