Trying this out, we'll see if it grows algae or not. Or if itl end in disaster haha.

Do you mean a refugium vs an algae scrubber. Algae scrubbers are generally like a screen with water flowing that allows GHA to grow on it and easily clean. Refugium is a water basin to house macro algae then harvesting to remove nutrients.

Ah yeah no I meant algae scrubber. It started off as just a second refugium in the container but decided to use the lid with mesh to try and make a large algae scrubber instead. Water runs over the lid and through a hole in the centre of it for the water to drain in to the container and then back in to the sump.
