DIY bendable Clamp for LED?

I am wanting to make a slick looking clamp that will hold my LED fixture above my tank. I am planning on making an acrylic bracket that will have some nylon screws to secure the thing to the rim of the tank but then I want a bendable tube/so that I can position the LED and make small adjustments. The tube is something I have no idea how to do. Any thoughts? I was thinking about buying a clamp on light from a thrift store and modifying it to fit my LED fixture. What have you guys seen?
 
Pretty much something like this - but ideally I would like to be able to run a cable through the tube.
