I was at lowes tonight and saw a piece of egg crate that was broken. I asked an employee about it and she marked it down from $19 to $1!... So I figured I would make a little nano frag/QT tank. I looked around Lowe's and found a shallow 10 gallon utility tub for $8: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Creative-P...x-28-in-L-x-6-in-D-Drywall-Mud-Pan/1000608719

The only spare light I have is a AI Prime, so I couldn't do anything too big for appropriate light coverage--although they had a bigger 20 gallon tub for $17 that was a little nicer and deeper. I think this will work ok for a simple, cheap QT tank.

I'm probably going to add a little gravity float valve connected to a jug for the ATO and get a cheap powerhead once I figure out what will work ok with the shallow depth without sucking air.

That should work.

I just found too many 5g and 10g tanks for free on Craigslist, so frag tank, quarantine tank and holding tanks were too easy to come by!

Nice! Maybe add some biological media somewhere along the edges?

Otherwise a cheap canister would provide flow and a place for media.
