With me having 16 foot ceilings. I had to come up with something. It's be holding my metal halide and what ever I add to blind my fish.

It's it aluminum or steel? How is everything connected?
What is the finish/protective layer?

Its aluminum. I drilled and used rivets. The cheap pop rivets. I did learn you need a primer. Not any primer, SELF ETCHING primer. Or the paint wont stick. Its all done from 1"X1" angel aluminum.

@Saveafish Thanks for sharing. You inspired me to try using rivets; it was pretty easy! I wouldn't have thought of using rivets to make a mounting frame for diffusers.
