Hey everybody.

Increasing oxygenation increases the number of fish you can have per gallon of water. I've seen large-scale low head oxygenators (LHO) that pump in air from the bottom (counter-current) and the water flows down across that air, allowing maximum diffusion of the air into the water before entering the tank.

It seems like a simple enough principle to replicate on a small scale (say for a 50-100 gallon tank). Has anyone ever done it or heard about it being done?

Here's an interesting link on oxygenation if you're interested. Goes over multiple methods including LHO, but on large scale for freshwater aquaculture. http://ag.arizona.edu/azaqua/ista/I...06/8 Gas Transfer/Oxygenation/Oxygenation.pdf
