Homemade overflow fish guard. My flasher wrase one day went missing.. I searched and searched finally I seen him in my overflow. After a bit of time getting in there to get him out I sat and thought how the heck can I stop that from happening again? Then it hit me. Use the coarse foam block. I cut to size and added to overflow and presto chango it works great! Figured I'd share with you.

If this clogs badly you could always use gutter guard. 1456680345162431978196.jpg
the problem with that is some of my fish are very small and would squeeze through those holes. with the coarse foam the water flows right through and the fish can't! The coarse foam pores are large enough that it won't clog.
