The DIY projects was for our 40 gallon backup/emergency tank in the garage.

The first project that I did was a light holder for two AI Vega's. It consist of Zinc Plated Punched Angle where the lights **** and then there is 2 Zinc Plated Threaded Rods that hang from 14 Gauge half Slotted Metal framing strut channel via superstrut nylon strut cone nuts. I can move the lights back or foward, up or down and tilt.

The second project was the overflow. I looked at these three different projects. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1251168 , http://diyfishkeepers.com/forum/sho...oast-to-Coast-Weir-Aquarium-Overflow-(PVCC2C) , https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/diy-coast-to-coast-overflow.501250/ . The Overflow consist of 1.5" pipes. The return uses a Mag 9.5.

The Third was the Sump. This wasn't a build. I just bought a HDX 27 Gallon Tote. The tote ***** on about 1.5" of Styrofoam so its not on the cold garage floor. It holds as of now 15 gallons and I can safely go to 20 gallons. Its a open sump, holding two Mag 9.5's one is for the return and the other is for the skimmer. It has a 300W heater. Its holding two months worth of harvested chaeto from our 90 gallon main tank.
