I have a aquaclear filter laying around and seen they can be turned into a hob refuge. I would just put cheato in it, and a light. Is this a good or bad idea?

I don't think extra filtration is ever bad

Bad if you don't have nutrients. Good if you do!

New tank not doing it at the moment but I would like to stay ahead of the nirate phos game ;) plus it would be a place to grow pods.

inTank makes a media basket for the AC filters. Might check that out?

I still have my media basket. From the ones I looked at I just need to chop that part up into 3 pieces lol but I still might check it out never know what kind of ideas I could come up with.
