Was wanting to know if you can use clay to make rock..... like the clay they use for clay pots but mold it to the shape you want i believe that there would no problem with it for people put small clay pots in there tanks for clown to spawn in it.......what does everyone else think

Good reef rock is good because it is very porous with plenty of space for nitrifying bacteria. You really can't get that from anything you could make. While it is ok to make some of your own rock for a particular look you are going for, you should also have "real" rock to keep your tank healthy. I would not include any homemade rock in your "lbs/gallon" amount of rock or at best maybe count it is a 5 to 1 ratio .
