Thanks for the info. It seems im doing everything right for the most part. Just odds and ends differ. Using sand to make my mold letting it sit for a few day any putting it in water till it clears up and sit in ro water. Not in a rush for a first timer project.

A freind of mine made an awesome center piece of rock for his 220. He owns a concrete plant and had everything laying around. We fought a diatom issue for months and finally tracked it down to the silica sand he used to make the rock. So be careful what sand you use. It may end up driving you nuts.

I've only really bin using the sand to make a mold. Just really concrete and oyster pellets. And on one I used water softener salt in the middle then covered it with concrete to make it have a cave.

Why is my ph over 8.8 after 2 weeks soaking outside and 2-1/2 weeks in ro water? That mean just has to soak longer?
