So I want to build a stand and top for my small tank that’s 15 gallons (don’t have measurements atm). I have a cat who is very fascinated by it and need to keep her out and want a door for storage or a small sump that she can’t access and a top so she can’t jump in! I’m also 21 years old and trying to get into wood working. Does anyone have any links to videos or personal experiences they’d be willing to share?

I built a stand myself, way bigger then you’ll want but you can check out my build thread for how I did it summed up.

That looks awesome! How long have you been woodworking/how did you learn about it?
Haha. Funny question. I’m only 17, haven’t really ever been doing it. My dad had the tools and I just went for it. As always, measure twice cut once :) believe it or not he didn’t help at all. Just used all my own knowledge and what I’ve learned with him working on his rental houses

lol that makes me feel comfortable doing it tbh, my girlfriends dad knows his stuff for woodworking so I’m gonna ask for his help and will post a thread once it’s been done in the coming months!

Heck yeah. It’s not too difficult. Look forward to seeing the turn out! And I’m being serious with the measure twice cut once. It’ll save you a lot of headache and money with how much good wood costs these days.

Where did you get your wood from and what kind did you use?
