I was wondering what you guys thought of my sump blueprint. Any possible problems? Thanks for the feedback. I am using a 20 gallon to do this. I am going to be running a 55 gallon tank. I am also using acrylic to glass.

Personally I've never heard good things about bioballs in a saltwater setup. usually hear the terms nitrate factory and garbage dump. Also, the "T" with the ball valve on the return pump should dump back into the skimmer section to reduce the possibility of it dumping a whole ton of micro bubbles into the pump intake.

I would actually take out that entire "pre-filter" section ya got there and make it the refugium section. Maybe run a filter sock at the most.

I agree, wipe out the bio balls and sponges. You don't want anything that can trap or collect debris or anything that grows nitrifying bacteria. I wouldn't even use a filter sock, although the ability to temporarily add one is useful.
