So I have a line on a used 20 gallon tank, which I think might make a decent sump for my 55 gallon display. Or at the very least grow buckets of chaeto.

However, I am wondering how one could rig up a sump when you can't drill your tank for overflows? Only thing I can think of is two pumps, but that seems to be begging for equipment failure to flood/drain the tank.

Any ideas?

The marinedepot hob overflow was great on my 60gal I got the one with dual drains to run a herbie drain, but I only used 1 of the u-tubes. It supplied the sump and upon power outage and power restored it started back up without fail. Hopefully I helped alittle
