Well a 265 gallon reef tank just isn't enough hahaha. I'm now in the process of building a 60 gal frag tank!!

Going to pick up this 60 Gal Deep Blue Rimless Frag Tank tomorrow from another reefer! (the tank on the ground)
IMG_0577.JPG

I just cant work in the 265 its TOOOOO BIG!! So i plan on cutting every frag i have in half and putting half in the frag tank and have in the display. My plan with the display is to NEVER EVER touch those corals. anything i am going to trade/sell will be in the frag tank.

The frag tank will sit ontop of my sump in the fish room. I should have that built this weekend.

As for equipment its whatever i have laying around the house

Powerheads:
Jebao WP-40
Jebao WP-25 i think i have

Return Pump:
Mag 7 or Mag 9 i think i have in my garage

Lights:

I am going with the Arctic T247 lights again they have worked for me in the past and are super cheap! start with one than add another one if i need it.

No Sand the bottom will be lined with Travertine tile and (2) 10' pond baskets
I may also have a couple pieces of liverock for the fish to hide in as well.

I will have 2 clownfish in there as well as maybe 2 Cardinalfish maybe some pipe fish not sure yet.

Yeah man I'm right around the corner from my old house. And I know I still owe you some corals my my Miami is finally coming back but it's super slow as soon as I can make a good cut its yours. When I moved I lost a lot of my corals :/

Is it open from the back also? I'm planning on building a 120g or a 150g into a wall. Already have decided which walls I'm taking out and reinforcing the floor- is also a ceiling in the basement. But I hadn't thought about the back until I saw yours...which is gorgeous I might add. I hadn't considered closing the top in, but there are probably good points for that too.

I like the open back aka fish room. what I'm going to highly recommend HIGHLY recommend is having front access. it may not be bad on the 12o but its a PAIN to get into my tank from the back. i only really access it from the front. If i were you i would put front access panels on your in wall. i talked to a couple people that didn't have it and they said if they could do it over they would have front access. I really liked the picture frame but not that i have the front access i am so happy i tried accessing it from the back and its hard you have to have 2 people or be able to use a picker stick while trying to see your reflection off the front glass its super hard lol

Ok so dumb ? The right side of the tank the back end maybe maybe hangs off 1/8 inch of that its a small small amount. I have filled up the tank and didn't realize it till after will there be any issues. It looks like the tanks bottom rim is still on the wood just a small amount is not.

Do you think I'll be okay I can take a pic if I need to

As the saying goes, always better to be safe than sorry. If you have the means to drain it down and nudge it over, then I'd say go for it. Will the 1/8 cause a problem? I wouldn't think so.
