Hi all,

Tank - 75 , live rock, 2years old,4 small fish , 2 - 4inch fish, no other bio load ...sump w skimmer/ fuge/socks. Fuge lights on 24/7.2 large hydor pumps in tank circulation.

My dk goes from 9 to 8 in about 2 days. That seem excessive to me. No?

Thanks for reading

Not necessarily. Coralline alaae and some clean up crew members consume alk, as does accumulating nitrate.

That said, there's no need to keep it at 9 dKH. Consumption drops as absolute alk drops.

Great info...

What dk do you suggest?

I recommend a wide range of 7-11 dKH. There are pros and cons across that range, but without hard corals, 7 dKH is fine.
